Our school office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. School hours are from 7:50 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:50 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. on Fridays and early dismissal days. If there is anything we don't answer here, just contact us and we'll respond.  From the Administrative Team Welcome to the 2009 – 2010 school year, Mountain Vista Mountain Lions! This year promises to be a great one for our school and our students. There are many new faces on our staff who are eager to help all members of our families grow and achieve. Every person on our campus is committed to providing a challenging academic year surrounded by a safe educational environment. With our Character Counts Program emphasizing the importance of living by the six pillars of character every day, our School Resource Officer providing law-related education and guidance on good decision-making, and our enhanced athletic program (Go, Mountain Lions!) providing strong incentives for good behavior and grades, we truly believe that our students skills and accomplishments will increase more than ever. New teachers and programs have been added to provide academic support through Title 1 Reading, English Language Development, and the “High School Prep” model for 7th and 8th grades to ensure that every student has the opportunity for excellence in academics. The most important element in the success of every child is parent involvement. This takes the form of expressing interest in daily school events, supervising homework, maintaining frequent communication with the teachers, and is greatly enhanced when parents become volunteers in their children’s schools. Help us build a strong and active PTO by coming to meetings, taking on a leadership role, helping with the Book Fair, with School Picture Day, or any of the many family-friendly events we host at Mountain Vista. We encourage you to come meet our great staff, and please introduce yourself to our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Tom Black, and to me any time – our doors are always open! Sincerely,
